Vermont Women's Super 8 Bike Ride and Bivo Water Bottles in Montpelier

I had the opportunity to photograph the Vermont Women's Super 8 bike ride in Montpelier, Vermont, combining portrait photography with commercial product shots for Bivo water bottles. The assignment brought together two subjects: Vermont's cycling community and beautiful product design.

Women's Cycling in Vermont

The Vermont Women's Super 8 is a beloved cycling event that brings together women riders of all levels to explore the scenic roads around Montpelier. The ride celebrates women's cycling in Vermont while fostering community and encouraging more women to get on their bikes. Photographing the participants meant capturing both the athletic energy of the ride and the camaraderie among Vermont's women cyclists.

Bivo Water Bottles: Form Meets Function

Bivo water bottles are known for their innovative stainless steel design—a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic cycling bottles. For this project, I photographed Bivo bottles in action during the ride, showcasing how the product performs in real-world cycling conditions on Vermont's roads. The commercial product photography highlighted Bivo's sleek design while the portrait work captured riders using the bottles during the Montpelier bike event.

Capturing Vermont Cycling Culture

Montpelier provided the perfect backdrop for this assignment. Vermont's capital city offers stunning cycling routes, and the Women's Super 8 takes full advantage of the scenic terrain. The portraits document the diversity of Vermont's women cycling community—from experienced riders to those new to group rides—all united by their love of biking in the Green Mountains.

The combination of editorial portrait photography and commercial product work allowed me to tell a complete story: women cyclists pursuing their passion while using thoughtfully designed gear that aligns with Vermont's environmental values.

This project reminded me why I love working with Vermont's outdoor and cycling communities. There's an authenticity to these events that translates beautifully in photographs—real athletes, real products, real Vermont roads.
